Monday, 4 August 2014

Remittance inflow has touched US $1.48 billion in July, setting a new monthly record. Bangladesh Bank’s General Manager (Forex Reserve wing) Quazi Saidur Rahman said that Bangladesh had never received this much remittance in a single month. ‘The new high came as expatriates have sent money to their families for Eid-ul-Fitr,’ he said. Remittance inflow had amounted to $1.45b in October, 2012. Meanwhile, the Forex reserve amounted to $ 21.4b on Monday, which is good enough to clear import bills of seven months, according to the central bank official, according to bdnews24.com.
