Report on Myanmar rice export ban refuted

The government of Myanmar has not taken any decision to stop rice export or stop issuance of permits for rice export to Bangladesh as reported in local newspapers, reports UNB.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar has phoned the Commerce Secretary saying that there is no possibility of imposing such a ban in near future, said a PID handout Tuesday.
Referring to the press report that the Myanmar government has imposed a ban on rice export, the handout said it was incorrect.
