Representatives of Christian assoc meet CA

Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed said Thursday Bangladesh is a country of religious harmony, where people of all religions have been living peacefully for ages with compassion for each other, reports UNB.
"People of all faiths are playing their responsibilities in maintaining the harmony… there is no division here -- all are citizens of the country," he said.
The Chief Adviser made the remarks when representatives of Bangladesh Christian Association made a courtesy call on him at the CA's office in the morning.
Conveying greetings of Christmas to the Christian community across the country, Fakhruddin said the government is ready to provide necessary support to the members of Christian community and ensure the rights to which they are entitled as citizens of the country.
He thanked the Christian community for their contributions in the nation building process and maintaining communal harmony.
Fakhruddin exchanged pleasantries and shook hands with the members of Christian community present on the occasion.
The Chief Adviser, flanked by Religious Affairs Adviser ASM Matiur Rahman and Power and Energy Adviser Tapan Chowdhury, cut a Christmas cake on the occasion.
