A resource centre with a study corner has been set up at the central library of Dhaka University Thursday for the visually impaired (VI) students of the university.
Such students of different departments and institutes of the university will be highly benefited by using the centre in carrying out their studies.
The Institute of Education and Research (IER) of DU has played a pioneering role to launch the centre while the UK-based Sightsavers International (SI) financed it.
DU Vice-chancellor SMA Faiz inaugurated the centre as the chief guest while Pro-VC AFM Yusuf Haider, Treasurer Syed Abul Kalam Azad and SI Chief Executive Caroline Harper OBE were present as special guests on the occasion. Sightsavers has been conducting its operations in Bangladesh since 1973.
