Restricting use of TikTok, Likee
Tuesday, 10 August 2021
Social media platforms like TikTok and Likee have become immensely popular among today's youths of Bangladesh. Many of our youngsters are getting addicted not only to watching the videos on such platforms, but they are also creating contents for these apps. In an attempt to go viral, some of them are resorting to vulgarity, and following bizarre lifestyles.
These short video clips do not give any good message but promote immoral practices. Sometimes, young people are being involved in crimes, while making contents for TikTok and Likee. However, it is unfortunate that the use of these apps has been increasing among the members of our younger generation due to the indefinite closure of educational institutions.
If we want to save our youngsters from immoral practices and crimes, the authorities concerned should impose a complete ban on TikTok and Likee. Besides, we must make our children understand that they should not run after cheap popularity.
