Retailers hoard soft drinks, Milk Vita for windfall profit after Eid

Thursday, 11 October 2007

Retailers have hoarded soft drink Coca Cola and Sprite supplied at reduced price during the Ramadan for windfall profit after the Eid day, reports UNB.
Tabani Beverage slashed the price by Tk 10 to Tk 40 of 1.5 litre bottle of Coca Cola and Sprite for the month of Ramadan, which had been hoarded to sell at the previous price of Tk 50 after the Eid.
Similarly, pasteurised Milk Vita was hardly available at the retailers' shop. A retailer at Gandaria demanded Tk 48 for one litre as against Tk 36 saying, "We get few litres, that too on payment of higher price."
