Retired army man killed in Habiganj road accident

HABIGANJ, Apr 3 (BSS): A retired army man was killed after being hit by a sand-laden tractor on the Madhabpur-Mantala road in Rajnagar area under Madhabpur upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The dead is Yakub Ali (50), son of Majid Ali of Samajdipur village of Chaumuhani union of the upazila. He was a retired army man.
The accident occurred in the area when he was going to Mantala Bazar riding a motorcycle. On the way, a sand-laden tractor coming from the opposite direction hit him around 7:20 am, leaving him dead on the spot, officer-in-charge (OC) of Madhabpur thana Rakibul Islam Khan said.
Police recovered the body from the spot.
Police seized the vehicle but its driver fled away from the spot.
Legal action will be taken in the regards, the OC added.
