Retired teachers, employees get Tk 722.3m to perform hajj

A total of 1,261 retired teachers and employees of non-government educational institutions Monday received cheques worth Tk 722.3 million to perform hajj this year.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the cheques  among the recipients at a function at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of the Public Library.
The money was given from the Non-govt Educational Institution Teachers & Employee Welfare Trust under a special consideration, according to a news agency.
