Retrial a must to ensure rule of law: Nasim

Former Home Minister Md Nasim has demanded immediate arrest of the accused persons in the jail killing case and alleged that they were released by four-party alliance government after a farcical trial.
He also demanded retrial of the 1975 jail killings, reports BSS.
Four national leaders Syed Nazrul Islam, Captain Mansur Ali, Tajuddin Ahmed and AHM Qamaruzzaman were murdered in captivity inside Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, 1975.
Nasim was speaking at a discussion at the city's Bangladesh Photojournalists' Association auditorium Tuesday.
Ekatturer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee organised the meeting marking the Jail Killing Day.
Nasim, also a member of central working committee of Bangladesh Awami League, said the four national leaders were killed after the killing of Bangabnadhu on August 15, 1975 to destroy Awami League and create a leadership vacuum in the country.
He said the defeated forces of 1971 with the assistance of Khondokar Mushtaq, Zia and Lt Col (sacked) Faruk clique killed the four national leaders.
Nasim said all the killings including those of August 15 and November 3, 1975 and the grenade attack on Sheikh Hasina on August 21, 2004 were tied with same string.
State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Md Quamrul Islam addressed the meeting as special guest with joint convenor of the committee Faruk Ahmed in the chair.
