Revenue at Teknaf Land Port declines

CHITTAGONG, June 8: The realisation of revenue at Teknaf Land Port (TLP) has declined alarmingly. Against the yearly target of Tk 770 million in the current fiscal, the revenue received during the last eleven months is around Tk 646 million. In order to fulfil the target TLP would have to earn Tk 124 million during the current month, concerned sources said.
According to export-import sources, the volume of revenue rises when a new political government comes to power reflecting positive impact on business activities.
Sources have called for resolving the problems prevailing at the land port by increasing facilities to exporters and importers. This would create employment opportunities on the one hand and collection of revenue would rise to optimum level on the other.
