Revival of capital market

Tuesday, 3 December 2019

Small investors are losing money due to falling price indexes of stock exchanges. Investors are incurring capital losses. Those who are not selling shares and mutual fund units expecting reasonable dividends are also getting frustrated. Allegations have it that many listed companies are performing well but not sharing profit with shareholders.
Regrettably, the regulator is not acting accordingly to stop such bad practice. Dividends are supposed to act as main incentive for investment in the stock market, should the return be commensurate. Distribution of dividends by listed companies would have stabilised the volatile market. Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has something to do in this regard.
