Rezaur leading pro-AL lawyers' panel

Aspiring candidates of ruling Awami League (AL) backed Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad (BAAP) have submitted nomination papers for contesting the upcoming Bangladesh Bar Council elections, reports BSS.
The pro-AL panel submitted the nomination papers on April 6 while AL Advisory Council Member and former Dhaka Bar Council president Advocate Syed Rezaur Rahman is leading the forum.
Earlier, Bar Council Chairman and Attorney General AM Amin Uddin announced the election schedule for Bangladesh Bar Council, a statutory body regulating the country's lawyers, polls on April 4.
The voting will be held on May 25 from 10am to 5pm at the Supreme Court Bar Association in Dhaka and all the civil courts at the districts level.
From the Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad Advocate Syed Rezaur Rahman, former food minister Advocate Qamrul Islam, former Dhaka Bar president Advocate Mokhlesur Rahman Badal, Advocate Shah Md Khasruzzaman, Advocate Shah Md Jikrul Ahmed, Advocate Md Rabiul Alam (Budhu) and Advocate Mohammad Syed Ahmed (Raja) are contesting the general seat while Advocate Abdul Baten (Dhaka), Advocate Md Jalal Uddin Khan (Mymensigh,Tangail and Faridpur),Advocate Mujibul Haque (Chattogram and Noakhali), Advocate AFM Ruhul Anam Chowdhury Minto (Sylhet and Cumilla), Advocate Anis Uddin Ahmed Shahid (Patuakhali, Khulna and Barishal), Advocate Md Ikramul Haque (Rajshahi, Jashore and Kushtia) and Advocate Md Abdur Rahman (Dinajpur, Bagura, Rangpur and Pabna) in the regional seats.
