RHD toll to be automated fully after October

Toll collection of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) will go automated fully on its nine toll bridges and two toll roads after October next.
The bridges are Karnaphuli bridge, Meghna Bridge, Gumti Bridge, Bhairab bridge, Payra bridge, Shah Jahan Ali bridge, Charsindu bridge, Shaheed Moyezuddin bridge and Lalon Shah bridge. The toll roads are Atrai Toll Plaza and the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Highway,
The RHD in a circular available on Saturday said no vehicle would be allowed to cross the toll plazas without ETC after October.
The RHD has already introduced the ETC with 10 per cent rebate on tolls, if the ETC lanes are used at the existing toll plazas.
