BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Adviser Riaz Rahman was shot and his car torched in Dhaka's Gulshan area on Tuesday night, his physician Shuvo Rahman said. He was leaving the neighbourhood after meeting the BNP chief. The car was seen on fire near the Westin Hotel around 8:40pm. The former foreign secretary was rushed to the United Hospital for treatment. He was shot four times. In a statement BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia condemned the attack and expressed her concern.
