Rice, pulse, oil prices increasing in Tangail

TANGAIL, Dec 27: The prices of rice, pulse, oil, have increased in the markets across the district.
Low quality rice BR-11 and Irri 29 were sold at Tk 22 to Tk 24 per kilogramme (kg) last week. But this week those were being sold at Tk 28 to Tk 30 per kg.
Medium quality rice, Minicate and Nazirshail were sold at Tk 32 to Tk 35 last week. They being sold at Tk 35 to Tk 40 per kg this week.
Shafiq Miah, a retailer at Tangail Park Maidan Bazar said, prices of all varieties of rice have increased by Tk 3 to Tk 5 per kg, and the upward trend is likely to continue.
The increase in the prices of ginger, onion, potato was unreasonable. Onion, which was sold at Tk 20 to Tk 25 per kg a week ago is being sold at Tk 40 to Tk 45 per kg. Prices of other vegetables have also increased.
Edible oil (soybean) loose and palm oil were also selling at higher prices.
However, the price of flour was stable in the market. The commodity is being sold at Tk 22 and loose Tk 19 to Tk 21 per kg.
Egg, beef, mutton were being at the previous price. The price of four pieces of eggs at Tk 24, beef from Tk 200 to Tk 210 per kg and mutton from Tk 300 to Tk 320 per kg.
