Rickshaw mechanic killed in compressor explosion

COMILLA, June 30 (UNB): A rickshaw mechanic was killed when a compressor exploded at his workshop at Bangodda Bazar under Nangalkoat Upazila Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as M Hasan (22), son of Fazlul Huq of Parkoat village in the upazila.
Witnesses said Hasan was critically injured when the compressor of his workshop exploded at night while he was pumping a rickshaw-tire.
He died on way to the Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Another report from Faridpur adds: An octogenarian woman burnt to death at Dangi village under Char Bhadrasan Upazila Friday.
Police said Saju Khatun (80), was burnt alive when her bed was caught fire from a lamp at about 1:30 am.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.
