Rickshaw puller killed in Rajshahi road crash

A rickshaw puller was killed and two others were injured as a private car knocked down his rickshaw at Fire Service Crossing in Rajshahi city on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Manjur Hossain, 50, a resident of Shayer Gacha. Witnesses said a private car hit the rickshaw of Manjur when he was waiting with his vehicle at Fire Service Crossing around 7.00am, leaving Manjur and two other rickshaw pullers staying beside injured. Later, the trio was whisked off to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared Manjur dead. Shahadat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
