Rickshaw-puller stabbed to death in capital

A rickshaw-puller was stabbed to death and his friend was also injured following a conflict over playing cricket in city's Mohammadpur area, reports UNB.
Police arrested three persons in this connection.
The victim was identified as Shafique, a rickshaw-puller, son of Nuruzzaman. He was residing near Sikder Medical College and Hospital at Rayerbagh.
Police quoting witnesses said Shafique, his friend Razan and several other youths were playing cricket at a field near Sikder Medical College at Hazaribagh Thursday afternoon.
An altercation ensued between Shafique's friend Razan and other teammates over the game.
In sequel to the dispute a quarrel ensued between Razan and his friends - Tutul, Hasan and Olim - at Hazaribagh over the issue Friday.
At one stage, Tutul, Hasan and Olim allegedly beat Razan and took him to Rayerbazar area where they stabbed him indiscriminately with a sharp weapon. Hearing his cry for help, Shafique went to his rescue.
The trio left Razan and swooped on Shafique and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.
Locals rescued the victims and rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) from where Shafique was shifted to Chest Disease Hospital and Razan was admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardi Hospital at night.
