Risky billboards of Dhaka city

The haphazardly erected billboards all over Dhaka have become deadly traps for the city dwellers and whenever there is a strong wind or a storm, we see those billboards fall abruptly injuring people and damaging vehicles. Many such billboards are erected illegally on the strength of political influence and both the city corporation as well as the law enforcing agencies can do very little to stop this. The city dwellers are exposed to serious threats by these billboards because proper safety measures have not been followed while installing these billboards.
I hope the city corporation will take prompt steps to remove all the billboards erected illegally and ensure that safety measures are taken for billboards which are legal. I feel many billboards have become an eyesore for people and damaging the landscape of our city. If we can bring some discipline in our city, it can be a beautiful place to live in. The city dwellers cannot remain indifferent also and they should create a social movement against this unacceptable culture of billboards. It is high time the city dwellers became aware of their civic responsibilities and made the city livable.
