RMG factory owner robbed of Tk 1.55m

GAZIPUR, Jul 4 (UNB): Muggers looted Tk 1.55 million from the owner of readymade garments (RMG) factory after injuring him at Harinachala in Konabari of the city Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Mehedi Hasan, managing director of Oishee Sweater Factory.
Jakir Hossain, sub-inspector of Konabari Police Station, said a group of muggers waylaid Jakir Hossain on the Konabari-Kashimpur Road around 8:30pm while he was going to his factory with the money.
Later, the muggers opened fire on Jakir Hossain and snatched the bag containing the money, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to a local hospital from where he was referred to Dhaka.
Being informed, police rushed in and recovered two motorcycles from the spot.
In another incident, miscreants looted a covered van loaded with 30 refrigerators of Butterfly brand in the BSCIC industrial area of Tongi Thursday night.
