RMG owners keen to set up joint venture co, import more items

Two Australian readymade garments (RMG) importing houses have separately expressed their willingness to set up joint venture industry and import more items from Bangladesh.
Representatives of those two houses among five leading RMG importing houses of Sydney have expressed the willingness while visiting the three-day BATEXPO-07 being held in the city, according to a press release.
The representatives of LOWES, Sydney, Host Supplies (Aust) Pty Limited, Gazal Apparel Pty Limited, Pretty Girl Fashion Group Pty Limited and Koala Clothing Australia Pty Limited are visiting the fair.
Among them LOWES, Gazal Apparel Pty Limited and Host Supplies have already placed orders for import from Bangladesh.
Gazal Apparel is also planning to go for joint venture for manufacturing business shirt and school wear in Bangla-desh.
At present, Host Supplies is importing towel and has expressed willingness to import other home textiles including bed-sheet and quilt cover.
Considering the growing demand for Bangladeshi RMG in Australia, the Bangladesh High Commission has advised the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to hold an exclusive RMG exposition in Melbourne in the beginning of next year.
The Bangladesh High Commission also expressed the opinion that the exposition should be held as soon as possible in Melbourne which is the hub of leading RMG importing houses in Australia, the release added.
