RMG washing village to be built in port city

CHITTAGONG, Oct 4: Ready-made garments (RMGs) washing village would be built in the port city in cooperation with Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) and other concerned agencies of the government, sources said.
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor (acting) Manjur Alam said this at a discussion which was arranged under the joint auspices of Ready-made Garments Washing Plants Owners Association (RMGWPOA), Chittagong and voluntary organisation 'Sajag' at Chittagong Club auditorium Thursday.
Acting mayor of the port city called upon the concerned owners to be more conscious so that the industrial units washing clothes can be operated under a pollution-free atmosphere.
RMGWPOA Chittagong President Anwar Sajjad Ripon presided over the meeting.
Department of Environment (Chittagong) Director Nazmul Haque, BGMEA Director Ershad Ullah and RMGWPOA General Secretary Rafiuddin Ripon addressed the meeting.
