RMG workers block Airport-Mohakhali Road

A group of ready-made garment (RMG) workers blocked the Airport-Mohakhali Road in the capital's Banani area on Friday, demanding payment of their due service benefits. The workers of Masud Apparels Limited in Chairman Bari area began their sit-in at around 11:45 am.
The protest brought all vehicular movements on the road to a standstill, causing severe traffic congestion in Banani and the surrounding areas, and creating difficulties for commuters.
Ziaur Rahman Zia, ADC of Traffic - DMP Gulshan Division, said police members were deployed at the scene after receiving reports, and they brought the situation under control.
