RMG-workers block road in Gazipur

The workers of a ready-made garment (RMG) factory Tuesday put up barricade on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway, following the deaths of two fellow workers in a road accident in Gazipur. The angry workers also damaged a number of vehicles and set ablaze the truck that killed the two workers. Police said a Tongi-bound brick-laden truck from the district town smashed a rickshaw carrying two workers of Northern Garments at Board Bazar at 8am, killing them on the spot. One of the deceased was identified as Khadiza, 22, supervisor of the factory.
