RMG workers demand wages, bonus by Nov 24

Readymade garment (RMG) workers Thursday warned trade bodies, the government and the factory owners of untoward situation if they are not paid Eid bonuses, unpaid wages and half of the salary of the current month by November 24.
The warning was given at a rally and red-flag procession of hundreds of garment workers in the capital's Muktangan.
Bangladesh Garments Workers Unity Council, an umbrella organisation of 17 garment workers' federations, organised the programme with council president Golam Mostafa in the chair.
During the rally, speakers urged the factory owners to pay Eid bonuses, all unpaid wages and half of the salary of the current month by November 24, the council said in a statement.
"Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the trade body, the government and the factory owners will be held responsibility for any untoward situation stemmed from the non-payment by any factory to its workers by November 24," the statement quoted the speakers as saying.
Council coordinator Amirul Haque Amin, among others, spoke on the occasion.
