RMG workers to get festival bonus by Sept 28

A decision has been taken to pay festival bonus to the workers of readymade garment (RMG) factories by September 28 while wages of the current (September) month by October 2, State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu informed on Sunday. He said as the Eid-ul-Azha holiday will start on October 3, the condition has been set for the owners of RMG units to pay the wages of the running month by October 2. Industrial Police and as well as banks have been asked to cooperate with the garment factory owners regarding the transaction of money for the payments, the minister added while addressing a media briefing after the 26th meeting of the ‘Crisis Management Core Committee’ on the preparation for Eid and Durga Puja festivals, according to a news agency.
