RMG workers to get rice at Tk 18 per kg from April

The garment workers would get rice at Taka 18 per kg from the first week of April as per a decision taken by the government here today. The decision was taken at a meeting with the leaders of BGMEA and BKMEA with Minister for Food and Disaster Management Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzak in the chair. According to the decision, the owners of garment industries will procure rice from the government godown at Taka 16.50 per kg and sell it to the garment workers at Taka 18.00 per kg. Each worker can buy 5 kgs of rice per week and a total of 20 kgs in a month. — BSS
