Road accident and loss of lives

Recently as many as 25 people died in a road accident in Faridpur. The witnesses said that the driver lost control over the bus and rammed into a roadside tree. This is not an isolated incident as every year hundreds of people die in road accidents and hundreds of others get seriously injured. The issue of road safety is a serious one and deserves to be considered with top priority. The government needs to install CC cameras on highways so that the offenders can not escape notice. Our roads have become death traps for our citizens. We open newspapers everyday and read about road accidents. Our collective apathy towards taking preventive steps against road accidents is costing us dearly. We must wake up now and take every possible measure to stop this procession of death on the roads.
