Road accident in Dhaka claims two lives

Thursday, 25 April 2019

I came across photos of a smashed car near the Matsya Bhaban in Dhaka on social media yesterday. In the photos, some parts of the car's body were pasted with human blood and tissues.
At least two people were killed and two others injured in the accident, which occurred after two buses collided with a private car and two rickshaws at the Matsya Bhaban intersection on Tuesday morning.
UNB has reported that the accident took place when the two buses, including one from 'Swadhin Paribahan' , collided with the private car and hit two rickshaws, leaving four people injured. The injured were taken to DMCH where two of them were declared dead by the doctors on duty.
This accident again sheds light on how irresponsibly bus drivers are driving their vehicles on the city roads. If strict measures are not taken by the government against such drivers, such accidents, deaths and injuries will continue.
