Eleven people have been killed and 19 others injured after two separate accidents in Gaibandha's Palashbari Upazila, reports bdnews24.com.
The two accidents occurred in Nuniagari and Jundaha areas on Saturday.
A freight truck carrying rods to Rangpur veered into a ditch as it attempted to skirt a bicycle on the road in Jundaha around 11:30am on Saturday, Palashbari Police Station Inspector Mustafizur Rahman said.
"Seven people on the truck, including a woman, were killed."
Eight others were admitted to the Palashbari Upazila Medical Complex with injuries.
The police and fire service are conducting rescue operations. The identities of the casualties have yet to be released.
Police believe some day labourers had boarded the truck as a cheap way to travel from Dhaka to Nilphamari.
Four people were also killed in a separate road accident in Palashbari's Niniyagaria area, police said.
Twelve others were injured as a bus rammed into a passenger vehicle, killing three people identified as construction workers Zakir Hossain, 25, Khasru Mia, 55 and Raju Mia, 28.
Four of the wounded were rushed to Bogra's Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital while the rest were admitted to the Palashbari Upazila Health Complex.
The Bogra-bound bus hit punctured a tire near the Sarkar Petrol Station, causing it to veer out of control and hit the other vehicle, said Inspector Abul Basar of Gobindaganj Highway Police.
The three construction workers died on the spot, he said. The fourth died later on.
