Road accidents kill four

At least four people were killed and four others injured in road accidents in Mymensingh and Narsingdi districts in the last 24 hours ending at 7pm on Saturday. A speeding bus hit an auto-rickshaw at Shambhuganj at Mymensingh Sadar Upazila around 11 am. Ershad, the driver of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, died on the spot and its three passengers received injuries. They were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where doctors declared one of them dead. In Narsingdi, two people, including an auto-rickshaw driver, died on the spot and three other people sustained injures when a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Hanif Paribahan’ from Sylhet hit the auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Shrephulia Bus Stand at Shibpur Upazila around 7pm. The deceased could not be identified. The injured were admitted to Narsingdi Hospital, according to a news agency.
