Road accidents kill three

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 21 (BSS): A police constable was killed and a sub-inspector injured in a road accident at Folimari Beel area under Bholahat upazila of the district last night.
The deceased was identified as Golam Azam (50), constable of Bholahat Police Station.
Officer-in-Charge of Bholahat Police Station Abdul Mazid said the accident occurred when a motorcycle carrying the duo collided head-on with a human hauler in the area at about 8 pm, leaving Golam Azam dead on the spot and another injured.
Injured sub-inspector Shafiqul Islam (40), was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Another BSS report from Magura says: Two people were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Rautra area on the Magura-Jhenaidah highway under Sadar upazila this morning.
The deceased were identified as Jakaria (25), son of Rahim Biswas of Sachani village and Samirul (35), son of Solaiman of Rajarampur village in Sadar upazila.
Police said the accident occurred when a truck turned turtle on them in the area at about 8 am as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving Jakaria dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital where Samirul succumbed to his injuries this noon.
Officer-in-Charge of Magura Police Station Asaduzzaman Munshi confirmed the incident.
