Road blockaded in city for arrest of girl’s killers

Agitated people at Natun Bazar area in the capital on Friday enforced road blockade in protest against murder of Farjana and demanded immediate arrest of the killers.
The local people, along with her classmates, formed a human chain at about 11:00 am in the area on the day severely hampering vehicular movements for about an hour.
At one stage, the agitated people started vandalising vehicles and set ablaze tyres that led to a brief scuffle between the agitators and the police personnel. Police charged batons on the agitators, forcing them to leave the place at about 12:00 noon.
However, there was no report of casualties as police intervened timely and brought the situation under control.
Police recovered Farjana's body which was packed in a sack from Cholmyed area on Thursday in the capital.
"The agitators formed a human chain at about 11:00 am. We dispersed them at about 12:00 noon. There was no report of casualties. The situation is under control," Officer-in-Charge of the Bhatara Police Station Sarwar Hossain told the FE.
