Hartal supporters blocked 15 kilometres of Feni-Parshuram road placing logs and torching tyres on Monday morning. The local unit of AL and its associate organisations – Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jubo League and followers of slain upazila chairman Ekram – brought out separate processions in different areas, including Natun Munshir Hat, Puraton Munshir hat and Nandua of the upazila. No vehicles even rickshaw was seen playing on Feni-Parshuram road while business establishments kept their shutters down from the morning. On May 22, the upazila unit AL observed a daylong hartal in the upazila protesting the brutal murder which took place in Fulgazi on May 20, according to a news agency.
