Road construction work worth Tk 7.8m begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Mar 21: The construction work of Durgapur WAPDA embankment -- Chapadaho Kisamat Balua road under sadar upazila in the district has begun.
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) is implementing the work at the cost of Tk 7.8 million under Union Infrastructure Development project with government funding.
MP Mahabub Ara Begum Guinee formally inaugurated the work in Chapadaho Bazar area under Kuptala union of the upazila recently.
Executive Engineer Subash Chandra Saha Roy, Upazila Vice Chairman Pearul Islam, political leaders Samar Chaki, Rezaul Karim Reza and Mridul Mostafi, upazila engineer Abul Mansur, UP Chairman Abdur Rouf and the local elite including the journalists were present on the occasion.
Inaugurating the construction work of the road, Mahabub Ara said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken up massive plan to construct the roads in the rural areas of the country to ease the communication and make road links between upazila headquarters and remote areas of the villages on priority basis.
