Road crash kills 9 in Cox's Bazar

COX'S BAZAR, June 22 (UNB): A Dhaka-bound passenger bus collided head on with a micro-bus in the district's Chokoria Upazila, leaving at least nine people dead and 20 others injured Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred at 12:30 pm on the Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway when the bus reached Khutakhali area, 35 kilometres north of the coastal town, said the district's Superintendent of Police Bonoj Kumar Majumdar.
The microbus was traveling from Chokoria to Cox's Bazar town, he said, adding that all the passengers who had died were from the microbus.
The official said seven passengers died at the scene while two others died after they were taken to nearby hospitals.
