Road crashes claim four lives in two dists -

Four persons were killed in separate road accidents in Chattogram and Naogaon on Wednesday.
Our Chattogram Corres-pondent says: two persons were killed and three others were injured in a road accident on Dhaka Chattogram highway at Mirerswari in Chattogram on Wednesday.
The dead are Md Mahabub (35), son of Md Sobhan of Burischang of Comilla and Md Munir, son of Ful Meah of the same area, while the injured are Mousumi, wife of victim Munir and his two sons Mejbah and Mahtab. They are are under going treatment at a hospital.
The accident took place when the Comilla-bound private car hit a truck which was standing by the road around 6:00 am.
Officer-in-charge of Highway thana at Mirerswari Md Shahadat confirmed the incident.
In Naogaon, two persons were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between two pickup on the Patnitala-Sapahar road in Karamzai area under Patnitala upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The dead are Rafiqul Islam, son of Rahim Uddin of Joth Gobardan village in Kurigram district and Zarif Uddin Md Shaheen of Ratiram village under Rajarhat upazila of the same district.
The accident occurred when a Sapahar-bound fish-laden pickup from Patnitala upazila collided head-on with another mango-laden pickup coming from the opposite direction around 5:30am, leaving three, including driver of the mango-laden pickup van and helpers Rafiqul Islam and Zarif Uddin Md Shaheen seriously injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patnitala thana Palah Chandra Dev said.
The injured were taken to Patnitala Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared two of them dead, he said.
