Road crashes claim three lives in three dists--

Three persons were killed separate road accidents in Dhaka, Chattogram and Gazipur districts on Friday, report agencies.
A motorcyclist died and his pillion rider was injured after a collision with a private car on the Hanif Flyover in the city's Jatrabari area on Friday morning.
The dead is Md Shahin (22), a motorcycle mechanic and injured Md Azim (20) is a motorcycle parts seller.
The incident happened when the duo was going to Bangshal.
Locals rescued them and took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared Shahin dead. Azim is currently undergoing treatment at the emergency department.

The body was kept at the morgue for autopsy, he said.
In Gazipur, a police officer was killed and his colleague was injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway while on their way to Biswa Ijtema, the congregation of the Tableeghi Jamaat, from Manikganj to perform duty early Friday.
The dead, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hasan, was posted at Manikganj district court while injured Sub-Inspector Amir Hamza is posted at the police control room of the police lines.
Police said the duo was headed for the Ijtema grounds in Tongi, having been assigned to perform duty from the district.
A passenger bus of 'Balaka Paribahan' struck the bike from behind in the Millgate area under Tongi East police station in the early morning, leaving both the SI and ASI critically injured.
They were first rushed to Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital in Tongi and later referred to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), in capital Dhaka, where ASI Hasan succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Tongi East thana, confirmed the matter, adding that SI Hamza remains under treatment at the NITOR.
The OC said they were trying to identify the bus, and to expect further legal actions in this connection.
In Chattogram, a former municipal mayor was killed and seven others including his wife were injured in a road accident in Chattogram's Fatikchhari upazila on Friday.
Mohammad Delwar (70) was the mayor of Ramgarh municipality.
The accident occurred in the morning when a pick-up van collided with a Noah car on the Chittagong-Khagrachari road, leaving eight people injured.
Nurul Alam Ashek, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost, said they were first taken to Fatikchhari Upazila Health Complex.
Later, they were brought to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital where Delwar succumbed to his injuries around 3:00 pm, he added.
