Road crashes in Rajbari, Bagerhat, Joypurhat, Dinajpur kill six

A total of six persons were killed in separate road accidents in Rajbari, Bagerhat, Joypurhat, Dinajpur districts on Saturday, report agencies.
In Rajbari, two people have died after a truck rammed a parked, fruit-laden truck at Kalukhali upazila in Rajbari district on Saturday.
The accident occurred on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional road in the Kalibari area of the upazila's Madapur Union around 6:15am, said Md Harun Ur Rashid, chief of Pangsa Highway Police Station.
The deceased were identified as Md Liton, 35, and Anisur, 35. Both worked as assistants to truck drivers.
Two dead in separate road accidents in Bagerhat
In Bagerhat, a motorcyclist and a rickshaw-van passenger were killed in separate road accidents in Mollahat upazila of Bagerhat on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Asad Sheikh, 40, son of Sadek Sheikh from Jugihati village in Khulna district, and Md Anwar, 35, son of late Salam Khan from Gangni area of Mollahat upazila.
According to police, an unidentified vehicle heading towards Dhaka from Khulna hit motorcyclist Asad at Kahalpur around 7:30 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
In a separate incident, a rickshaw-van passenger, Anwar, was killed after being hit by a bus in front of Sagar Filling Station around 9:45 am.
In Joypurhat, a woman was killed in a road accident on the Joypurhat-Bogura highway in Hichmi area under Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Rabeya Begum, 60, wife of Shamsul Haque of Paikar village under Sadar upazila of the district.
The accident occurred in the area as a truck hit her when she was walking to the Hichmi Bazar on the side Joypurhat-Bogura highway around 12:30 pm this afternoon. She was seriously injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Humayun Kabir said.
The injured was taken to Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead, he said.
In Dinajpur, a pedestrian was killed in a road accident after being hit by a pickup van on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway in Tatakpur Mor area under Birampur upazila of the district Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Hossen Ali, 70, son of late Ishahak Ali of Tatakpur village of the upazila.
The accident occurred in the area as a pickup van hit him when he was crossing the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway around 11am this morning, leaving him dead on the spot, office in-charge (OC) of Birampur Police Station Subrata Kumar Sarkar said.
