Road crashes kill five including father, daughter in three dists

Five persons were killed in separate road accidents in Bagerhat, Munshiganj and Habiganj districts on Friday and Thursday night, report agencies.
In Bagerhat, a man and his daughter died and his wife and son were injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck on the Bagerhat-Khulna highway in the Piljong area of Fakirhat upazila on Thursday night.
The dead are Sohel Faraji (37) of Khontakata village of Sarankhola upazila and his daughter Nourin Akhter (5). Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Katakhali Highway thana, confirmed the matter on Friday.
The injured are Mimi Akhter (32) and her son, Nausheen Faraji (10).
The incident happened when Sohel and his family were going to Khulna from Sarankhola on the motorcycle around 9:00 pm on Thursday. All four were rescued and taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared Sohel and Nourin dead, said the police official.
In Munshiganj, a pillion rider was killed while the motorcyclist injured in a road accident on the Bangabandhu expressway in the Umpara area under Srinagar upazila of the district on Friday.
The dead are Sheikh Kamrul (48), son of late Mannan Sheikh, resident Sonataundi area under Saltar upazila in Faridpur district. He was a member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
In Habiganj, two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto rickshaw and a covered van on the Chunarughat-Shaistaganj road in Durgapur area under Chunarughat upazila of the district on Friday.
The dead are CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Jamal Miah (32), son of Rafiq Miah, resident of Jacinta village of the upazila and Farid Miah (50), son of Kacham Ali, resident of Madhabpur village of the upazila.
