Road crashes kill three in N'ganj, Gopalganj

A total of three persons were killed in separate road accidents in Narayanganj and Gopalganj districts on Wednesday, report agencies.
In Narayanganj, two people, including a college student, were killed and four others injured when a speeding bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Araihazar upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased student was identified as Nafiz, son of Naim Mia of Rupganj upazila.
He was a Class XI student of Government Safar Ali College. The identity of the other deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Azizul Haque, officer-in-charge of Araihazar Police Station, said the accident occurred at 8am when the Narsingdi-bound 'Badhan Paribahan' bus crashed into the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving its two passengers dead on the spot.
The four injured passengers of the auto-rickshaw were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
In Gopalganj, a man was killed in a road accident on Gopalganj-Poysarhat regional road in the west side of Tarashi bus stand area under Kotalipara upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The victim was identified as Ankan Biswas, 22, son of Pallab Biswas, resident of Tarashi village in Kotalipara upazila.
The accident occurred when a Poysarhat-bound passenger bus from Gopalganj hit him when he was crossing the road in the area at around 9.45 am, leaving him seriously injured, inspector of Kotalipara Police Station Zillur Rahman said.
Ankan was rushed to Kotalipara Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries.
