Road crashes: One killed in Lalmonirhat, one in Faridpir, two in Sylhet

Four persons were killed in separate road accidents in Lalmonirhat, Faridpir and Sylhet on Friday, reports UNB.
In Lalmonirhat, a 37-year-old man died after a speeding truck ran him over in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat on Thursday.
The dead is Sirajul Islam, the son of Abdul Miah of Saftibari Chowratari village of the upazila.
Mahmud-Un-Nabi, officer-in-charge of Aditmari thana, confirmed the matter, saying that the accident occurred on Thursday night when the truck hit the pedestrian on his way home in the Khatapara area, leaving him dead on the spot.
Trucker Rahmat Ali (27) was detained in this connection, he added.
In Faridpur, a motorcyclist died and another person was injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle on the Faridpur-Bhanga highway in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur on Friday.
The incident happened as the Dhaka-bound Golden Line bus collided head-on with the motorcycle coming from the other side in the Mashaujan area of the Talma intersection of the upazila around 8:00 am on Friday.
The dead is Rabiul Islam (24), a resident of Keshnagar in the Gerda Union of Sadar upazila of Faridpur. The injured is Eklas Uddin Sheikh.
Nagarkanda Fire Service Station Officer Md Shariful Islam confirmed the matter.
In Sylhet, t5o people were killed and seven others injured in a head-on collision between a tractor and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet on Thursday evening.
The dead are Nazrul Islam (50) and Jasir Uddin (65), residents of Korni and Lengura villages respectively of the upazila.
