Road mishaps kill three, hurt 21 in two dists

A motorcyclist, two indigenous minor boys were killed and 21 others injured in two different road accidents in Sirajganj Friday and Bandarban Thursday, reports UNB. The motorcyclist was killed and his wife critically injured when a truck rammed their bike at Hatikumrul under Raiganj Upazila in Sirajganj Friday. The deceased was identified as Ratan Bepari (30), son of Moin Uddin Bepari of Gobindaganj Upazila in Gaibandha district. The injured was rushed to Mohammad Ali Hospital in Bogra. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. Two indigenous minor boys were killed and 20 others injured in the other road accident at Baganpara under Sadar Upazila in Bandarban Thursday evening. The deceased were identified as Man Wai Morong (12), son of Man Pong Morong and Ransai Morong (15), son of Rangbau Morong of Ranjupara area of the upazila. Police said the accident took place when a Ranjupara-bound mini-truck carrying 22 indigenous people from Chimbuk fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the two minors dead on the spot and injuring 20 others at around 6:30 pm. On information, police with the help of local people rescued the injured people and sent two of them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition and the rest to Sadar Hospital. Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
