BOGRA, Aug 9: Roads and Highways Department (RHD) recently suspended Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) Connecting Road Project in Bogra town for indefinite period for non approval of Revised Development Project Proposal ( RDPP).
The road construction project started in 2003-04 financial year at a cost of Tk 13 crore aiming at better communication between Mohammed Ali Hospital and Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Collage Hospital.
Md. Moniruzzman, Executive Engineer (Ex-n) RHD Bogra division said that the proposal was sent to the Planning Commission few months back for approval.
"We will start development works including land acquisition after approval, said Md. Moniruzzman. Meanwhile, the department spent Tk 3.24 crore for land purchase and earth filling works, he added.
"We are very unhappy over the RHD decision of suspending the project", said Md. Asad.
"We have given our costly cultivable land to the government at minimum price to construct the road for the betterment of people", said Md. Afzal Hossain.
