Robber injured in Satkhira \\\'gunfight\\\'

SATKHIRA, Mar 7 (UNB): A suspected robber was shot and wounded in a 'gunfight' with police at Chhoyghoria in Sadar Upazila Friday noon.
The injured was identified as Mobasser Hossain Madhu, son of Abdul Aziz of Mathurapur village in the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkhira Sadar Police Station Enamul Haque said being tipped-off, a team of police arrested Madhu from Lafsa village at around 11.00 am.
Later, the police team along with Madhu conducted a drive at Chhoyghoria to recover arms at around 12.00 noon.
Sensing the presence of police, associates of Madhu fired gunshots at the law enforcers to snatch Madhu from police custody, triggering a gunfight that left Madhu injured with bullets.
Critically injured Madhu was admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hosital.
Police said Madhu was wanted in 11 cases including of killing and robbery.
