Robbers gun down house owner in Ashulia

ASHULIA, Nov 11 (UNB): A man was gunned down by some unidentified robbers at Durgapur Sarker Bari area of Ashulia early Sunday.
The dead is Abul Sarker (55), son of Halim Sarker, and a businessman.
Sheikh Rezaul Haque Dipu, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ashulia thana, said a gang of robbers numbering 10 to 12 stormed the house of Abu Sarker by breaking window grills and kept the inmates hostage at gunpoint.
Being obstructed by Abu Sarker, the robbers opened fire on them, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, they looted several tolas of gold ornaments and cash from the house.
The gang members also took away his licensed pistol.
On information, a team of police visited the spot and sent the body to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
