Robbers looted 500 'tolas' of gold ornaments from a jewellery shop at Prince Plaza in the city's Mohammadpur area Tuesday, reports UNB
The police said the robbers, numbering 10 to 12, stormed into the 'Amin Jewellers' on the 2nd floor of Prince Plaza at Subhanbagh and looted 500 'tolas' of gold ornaments worth Tk 10 million making its employees hostages at gunpoint at about 11:30am.
They left the scene soon by the CNG-run auto-rickshaws without facing any resistance, the sources said. The police later picked up Rakhal Karmakar, manager of the shop, for interrogation. A case was filled with the police.
