Robbers loot two houses in Benapole

JESSORE, Mar 04: About 15 armed robbers looted gold ornaments from the residences of Bakul Mahbul, Benapole correspondent, Bangladesh Pratidin and also former general secretary of Benapole Press Club and his nearby resident Nazrul Islam, Benapole customs clearing and forwarding agent on Durgapur Road in Benapole port town early Sunday, the journalist and the police said.
Bakul told the newsmen that a gang of robber numbers about 15 looted 42 bhoris of gold and Tk 0.2 million from his residence after entering into his residence breaking the back door at around 2:45am on Sunday.
Before doing the acts the armed robbers tied up the family members of Bakul, he added, 'the gold was kept at the residence for the marriage ceremony of his daughter.'
The robbers later looted 3 bhoris of gold and Tk 0.1 million from the residence of Nazrul Islam. Storming into the house nearby the residence of the journalist the same robbers' gang did the act, family members said.
