Robbers loot valuables from 2 houses in Sylhet: 5 held

MOULVIBAZAR, Nov 3 (UNB): Armed robbers looted cash and valuables from a house at Chandagram village in Borolekha upazila in Moulvibazar early Wednesday. Police quoting local people said a gang of dacoits numbering 810 stormed into the house of Shafiquddin late at night. Later, they took the house inmates hostage at gun point and looted Tk 80,000 in cash, gold ornaments and other valuables. A case was filed. Another report adds: Robbers looted valuables worth about Tk 0.09m from the house of an expatriate in Golapganj upazila headquarters in Sylhet early Wednesday. Local people said a gang of 1012 armed dacoits entered into the house of the UK expatriate at around 2am by breaking the main gate and stabbed his mother Haowa Begum and younger brother Nazrul Islam. Haowa Begum filed a case with the police.
