Robbery at N'ganj : cash, valuables worth Tk 0.5m looted

NARAYANGANJ, June 6 (UNB): Robbers looted valuables worth Tk 0.5 million (5.0 lakh) from the house of a businessman in the town early Wednesday.
Local people said a gang of dacoits stormed into the house of businessman Alamgir Hossain at Sitalakkhya Crossing in the town at 3.00 am and held the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.
They later broke open the almirah and looted Tk 0.3 million (3.0 lakh) in cash, 15 tolas of gold ornaments and other valuables and decamped with the booties safely.
Another report from Jamalpur adds: A gang of robbers raided three shops at Bakultala market in the district town and looted cash and valuables worth over Tk 0.3 million (3.0 lakh) early Wednesday.
Sources said the muggers broke the locks of Muhit Pharmacy, Rekha Pharmacy and one telephone shop at about 4.00 am and took away cash and other valuables.
